One of my favorite trending looks for fall? This grey satin bodysuit.
Many seasons go by and I ignore the trends. This summer’s chunky sneakers? Not my thing. Last spring’s pearl barrettes? They felt too fleeting. But this season, there are a few buzzy pieces that have me going hmmm – I could see myself wearing that now, and next year, and the year after. Here are the five trending looks I’m following this fall because they’re going to be instant classics.
A Satin Bodysuit
Styled with the Senreve Mini Maestra bag in pebbled ice – use my link for $50 off your order.
Bodysuits are having a hot trend moment, but – real talk – they had to evolve (and thank goodness) because the OG versions you had to take completely off to pee were not practical. Thankfully, brands have taken note and two easy snaps in the crotch make this L’Agence version pitch perfect.
When satin slip dresses came back last year I got excited (negligees that double as evening wear are like two-for-one, right?!). Well satin is back in a big way for fall/winter, whether paired with re-emerging flare-cut denim or a looser 90s straight-leg cut.

While a blouse may come untucked, bodysuits maintain a neat silhouette and effortlessly transition from day to night. I know this easy satin piece will serve me well into the holiday season with leather pants or a high-waisted pencil skirt.
A Wearable Neon Coat
Neon is super trendy right now, but it’s the rare person who looks great in electric yellow/violet/acid green. A more forgiving and wearable neon shade is pink.

As soon as I saw this stunning fuchsia Mansur Gavriel coat from luxury Charleston (and online) retailer Hampden Clothing, I knew it was the statement topper my closet was missing. Super warm and with a rich texture, I want to throw this cheerful topper over everything.
A Modern Animal Print
Animal print is another key trend this season – though one I would have been inclined to overlook if it wasn’t for some fresh interpretations. This light-as-air cashmere sweater feels wonderfully sexy and has a modern ombre grey background.

I love that this sweater is reimagined in grey instead of tan – it feels more polished than on-the-prowl, and I’ll be putting it into my workwear and weekend rotations alike. Tucked into textured trousers like these from Equipment or layered over a satin dress and styled with silver heels, this is your workhorse sweater for the season. For other fresh animal prints, look for ones that are abstract and almost painterly – a fresh interpretation that will look new year after year.
Raw-Edge Denim
Done right, this trend is more Parisian than paysanne – it needs minimal fading, and should be paired with something a little extra – like the aforementioned satin dress or bodysuit – to get the right high-low effect. I found this chic jacket at Wrabyn when I told Wendy, the owner, that I didn’t like denim jackets. She might as well have said “challenge accepted” because she whipped out this slim-cut, slightly cropped version from L’Agence that has changed my entire perspective on denim jackets.

I’m also feeling the re-emerging flare-leg jeans right now, and what better way to wear them than with a stylishly raw hem? These are the Le High Rise Flare from Frame in Sutherland wash, and with a 35” inseam there’s plenty of room for a DIY trim.
Now hear me out those of you gasping at cutting up designer jeans – try them on with the boots or heels you’ll wear them with the most, get a friend or partner to mark the ideal length for you, draw it out on the reverse side with a sharpie and ruler, and cut slowly with sharp scissors. Bonus – this trend saves a trip to the tailor! Leave them a little long and wear with your highest heels if you still want the option to hem them in the future.
White Boots
I don’t need to wax lyrical about how much I love my Inez Paz boots because I already spent a whole blog post last month doing just that. In short, a pair of the perfect white booties adds brightness to so many neutral fall/winter looks, and pairs beautifully with sweater dresses, like this wool sheath from COS. Find them in white or cream, in an elegant silhouette that fits just right, and a pair of white boots should last you many happy years to come.

Love these picks! I have all but the neon coat and satin jumpsuit – neon is making a tasteful comeback. Here for it!
Tastefulness is the key!
I’m loving the white boots! And of course I’m digging the neon trend since I made an entire video on how to rock those bright yellows and greens in the fall.
Yes!! You are one of those people who can wear all neons. I need to go back and watch your post!
I’m definitely here for the satin and white boots!
I love how the satin works for day or night – one of those pieces that can easily do double duty!
Really liked your picks! Thanks for sharing them!
Thanks Carla! That makes me happy to hear. 🙂
Absolutely love these looks! I’m all about a bright colorful coat for winter.
Me too! It makes me feel perkier on gloomy days.
