One Fresh Way to Style Lizard Print Heels for Spring

Wearing the nude pink Sophia sandals and black-and-white Mia slingbacks, both from Inez.

Nothing says “springtime” like pastels, which is exactly what I embraced on a mild pre-quarantine day in New York City. If you’ve been following me for a little while, you know how much I love the subtle impact of monochrome looks – they can be soft, yet statement-making, and give you room to have fun with different fabrics and volume without being over-the-top. Plus they’re so fun!

Since I was running around New York City, I styled the two looks with my trusty Senreve Midi Maestra bag (it fits everything – read my review and get $50 off your first purchase here). Then to add a little bit of texture, I paired each look with a different lizard-print heel from my favorite luxury shoe designer, Inez.

About the brand

I’ve reviewed Inez heels several times before (read them all here), because their shoes are so beautifully made, and so darn comfortable. Designed in New York City and crafted in Spain, all Inez styles feature their secret sauce – a contoured, research-backed insole. The arch curves upwards, providing support and preventing the foot from sliding forward – something that’s usually an issue when dancing or walking for a long time in high heels. Inez’s brand is built on this kind of attention to detail, including a sensitivity to fit, offering sizes in three widths – narrow, medium, and wide.

Plus one of Inez’s most delightful details is that they’ve designed the buying process to make online shoe shopping as frictionless as possible. Inez lets you pick a complementary backup size to try along with your primary size selection – simply try them both and send back the ones you don’t want. You’re only ever charged for one pair.

Here’s how I styled their lizard print heels.

The Inez Sophia Sandals

With a modest 2.8-inch heel, the Sophia sandals might be the most comfortable heels I’ve ever worn. I tend to wear a 7.5 narrow in Inez heels, and found these true to size. The asymmetric straps wrap snugly across my instep in a way where I forget I’m even wearing these when I have them on.

I love the pink lizard color because it’s muted enough that it reads as a pinky-nude – the perfect low heel to wear with shorts and mini skirts this summer without looking too fussy. And with this kind of arch support, you can rely on the Sophia sandals for vacation too, once travel opens back up. Walking a mile in these babies won’t be a problem at all, so you can leave the band-aids at home.

The Inez Mia Slingbacks

Also with a 2.8-inch heel, the Mia slingbacks are wearable all day, and look just as good with jeans as they do with a cocktail dress, or this fresh lilac-and-lavender look. I got these in a 7.5 narrow as well, as they’re a perfect fit. I wore them multiple days in a row during NYFW and didn’t get any blisters.

These slingback pumps are completely seasonless – I can see myself wearing them through the summer with cropped jeans and a sleeveless blouse, and info the fall with tights and a sweater dress. The Mias are a timeless way to incorporate snake print into your wardrobe, without being too trendy. You can see them and the Sophia sandals styled differently in another post here.

I could totally see these Mia heels being styled with sheer socks or tights! The color is so versatile for a variety of styles. And the heel height looks manageable!

Yes to all of that! The 3″ heel height is just the right balance of leg-lengthening but walkable – really ideal.
