Vampy suits for work and play.
I love a well-tailored suit, however, since I left the corporate world two years ago I rarely have occasion to wear one. But why does a suit have to be relegated to work? It’s really the perfect evening-wear blend of professional and sexy. I’ve always admired women who wear tuxedo suits on the red carpet (even better without a blouse underneath).
There’s something inherently powerful about a blazer, slacks, and some killer heels. Here’s my reimagining of the vampy suit – one tailored in crisp white, and one in soft, draped black silk. Thank you to Tradecraft Photo for collaborating with me on these two looks!
The White Suit
A low-cut burgundy tank anchors this sharp look, accented with statement earrings from Lizzie Fortunato. The wave pattern on the top and textural fringe earrings balanced the tailored suit and stiletto heels. We lucked out with these cool yellow concrete pillars in a parking lot in Canton – they made for the perfect backdrop.

The Black Suit
I’ve been obsessed with this yellow Cult Gaia belt, wearing it with embroidered dresses and trench coats alike. It was a great finishing touch to this drapey silk ensemble from Grana. I added a lace bodysuit underneath to continue the boudoir vibes. Why not wear a silk suit to cocktail hour?

Seriously slaying in those suits! I agree, we should wear them out more and not just limit suits to work environments. Always looking good Vanessa!

Thanks so much, Elise!
Love those suits. Very classy and chic! Love that white suit the most. Will definitely be taking your advice and wearing them out. They would be really nice over cocktails with the girls.
Thanks Lanise! I think a chic suit is a great way to stand out in a sea of cocktail dresses!
