One of the best parts of blogging has been meeting other strong, confident, go-getting women in the community – from entrepreneurs and business owners, to designers, event planners, and photographers (like Jade, who shot this shoot), and of course bloggers like these lovely ladies pictured here.

If you’ve met me in person, you know I’m passionate about meeting new people and collaborating with other creatives. As soon as I moved to Baltimore, I joined the local chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design, and spent four years on the board working with some of the most talented, visionary people I’ve ever met. When my term as president ended, I knew I needed another outlet. Starting my style blog last fall was the perfect channel to do that, and I’m so excited by projects like this one where instead of being the only subject, I get to hang out with a group of talented women to bring a visual concept to life.

For this fun summer shoot, we coordinated light, summery details but we each styled them in our own unique way. I picked this gorgeous Alice and Olivia Saba top with intricate floral embroidery, sequins, and beads. Each piece requires 15 hours of handiwork, according to the brand. The mixed materials give the top a three-dimensional effect that feels quite special – like real flowers are blooming all over it. Plus having worked extensively with beads, sequins, and embroidery thread in my past jewelry-making days, I thoroughly appreciate the couture-like workmanship.

As soon as I saw the detail up close, I fell in love. It’s a splurge, but is on sale right now at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman.

I styled the top with classic high-rise white jeans from Madewell (the jeans I’ll be wearing all summer), my favorite Splendid wedges (super comfortable and wearable, but also a leg-lengthening five inches high), and a super versatile woven clutch from artisanal brand Kayu.

The stone closure on Kayu’s Jen clutch is a one-of-a-kind, luxurious detail.

Anna and I inadvertently coordinated our looks with asymmetric ruffles and these summer-ready bags. How cute is Anna’s Cult Gaia dupe? See how I styled the Cult Gaia Ark bag in this post from my trip to Miami, or this post from January at the Sagamore Pendry Hotel.

We ended our shoot with ice cream from go-to shop Kilwin’s – it melted faster than we could shoot, and by the end we were all covered in ice cream and cracking up! It’s such a pleasure to know ladies like these who are such kind, supportive, entrepreneurial souls.
