Reflecting on a fabulous first NYFW.

New York Fashion Week was such an amazing experience! I’m still recovering and playing moments over in my head. It was so surreal to be shoulder-to-shoulder with national fashion influencers, celebrities, stylists, and talented designers showcasing their latest work. Part of what made the trip so memorable was staying at the Gansevoort – the perfect chic, central location for my friend and fellow blogger Anna and I to call home in between the rush of shows, meetings, and parties.

Enjoying the beautifully-decorated top floor lounge at the Gansevoort Meatpacking NYC.

Right in the Meatpacking district, the Gansevoort is just a few blocks away from Chelsea Market, the High Line, the Whitney Museum, and tons of designer shopping from Christian Louboutin to Maison Margiela. It’s also right across the street from Restoration Hardware’s RH rooftop restaurant and Sephora – just in case you forget any essentials!

Grabbing at bite at the RH rooftop restaurant with its iconic chandeliers.

The moment we arrived at the Gansevoort, Anna and I were treated to top-notch service. Despite arriving hours before check-in, we were quickly shown to our Double Deluxe Suite on the sixth floor with a private step-out balcony, two full-size beds with 400-count Egyptian cotton sheets and hypoallergenic down pillows, and a marble bathroom filled with products from L’Occitane en Provence. Can you say luxurious?

Good morning NYC!

With the sleek, modern furnishings, and the complimentary fruit and prosecco that had been left to welcome us, it truly felt like we had arrived!

In-room espresso is my all-time favorite amenity.

The Gansevoort opened in the Meatpacking district in 2004 and has been fully re-designed and modernized with 186 rooms, including 22 suites and one duplex penthouse suite. The lobby has a sleek bar and lounge complete with a pool table, and the rooftop has the most amazing 360-degree views of Manhattan and the Hudson river.

The printed concrete around the heated rooftop pool is a stylish design touch.

Anna and I grabbed a quick bite between shows at the Lelie Rooftop Bar (the fish tacos and truffle fries were excellent), renowned for its cocktails and gorgeous mid-century modern furnishings. I was especially struck by the artful mix of patterns, prints, and materials across each space, from the exterior heated pool to the bar to the lounge area.

The industrial sliding metal doors behind me transition to the garden-themed lounge.

An old industrial scale and tangled ivy lend charm to the bar.

How beautiful is the tile?

If you’re looking for a more formal meal, there’s The Chester on the ground floor, a chic French brasserie that’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The chandeliers, leather-tufted booths, and warm wood accents make for a cozy escape from a busy day in the city. Or if you thrive on the energy, sit on the sidewalk patio to see and be seen.

With multiple lounge spaces to meet, mingle, or get a little work done, the Glam + Go blow-out bar, and fitness center and spa, the Gansevoort puts everything you need right at your fingertips.

If it hadn’t been for our packed NYFW schedule, we could easily have spent the whole weekend enjoying the hotel property, shopping, and exploring the neighborhood! I will definitely be back – I’m still swooning over the hotel’s design details, central location, and stunning views.
