I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas yesterday! I had a lovely time at two small and cozy celebrations, first with my family and then again with my in-laws. Christmas usually revolves around family time by the fire with food, music, and a good book. We’re pretty relaxed about presents – though we get intense about stockings!
Growing up, my Mom usually gave me one supremely practical gift, like a snow shovel for my car (so that’s what was in that oddly wrapped package…), and at least one I.O.U – something we could shop for together at the after Christmas sales. It was always something I looked forward to, because it meant we could pick it out together and have fun doing it.
This year, we decided not to do presents at all (still did stockings!) but I am looking forward to the traditional post-Christmas shopping trip. I’ll have my eye out for classic winter pieces that will expand my holiday season wardrobe, since those items will have the best discounts as brands try to clear out inventory for spring.
In preparation for that, I’ve scoped out some truly awesome sales online, many of which translate to brick-and-mortar stores as well.
Here are the retailers I have my eye on:
Aerie: Today Aerie is offering 40-60% off all items. Time to stock up on cozy loungewear! I highly recommend the tartan flannel pajama bottoms I’m wearing here, and this cheery red blanket scarf.
J. Crew: One of my go-to brands, J.Crew is offering 50% off all sale items online and in store. I have my eye on their chic wool coats and these velvet color-block heels.
Everlane: Not one to discount prices in the traditional way, Everlane is doing its biggest “choose what you pay” event where it offers three price points for items and lets you decide what they’re worth. With 205 new styles added to the sale through Dec. 29, I have my eye on this red merino sweater with a unique cable design, and this modern leather street shoe.
Nordstrom: The retailer’s half-yearly sale is here! Select items are up to 50% off – I’ve been building a wish list since Thanksgiving and I spy this this sequin and feather minidress on sale, as well as these holiday-ready embellished pumps.
Cole Haan: One of my perennial favorites for classic and sporty shoes, Cole Haan is currently offering 40% off sale items. I pulled the trigger on these cute hiking boots and these modern sneakers. Plus, get $25 off your first order with my referral link.
Mackage: The Canadian luxury outerwear brand has select styles up to 50% off, including this gorgeous checkered wool coat with removable mauve and grey fur collar, and this more casual style with a duo-colored fur-lined hood.
Stuart Weitzman: My go-to designer for all boots, SW is currently doing 25% off sale styles, including these beautiful knee-highs in stretch suede and these sleek white leather booties.
