A Senreve size comparison between the full-size Maestra, Midi, and Mini bags.

I discovered woman- and minority-owned luxury bag brand Senreve in 2019 when I was in search of the perfect travel bag for a two-week trip to Spain. I was looking for something that could be super practical and hands-free, but also stylish enough to look luxe and make a statement. Enter the Senreve Maestra!

With the ability to transform from a crossbody to a backpack to a held-in-the-hand satchel, the Maestra is Senreve’s signature design. It has clean, elegant lines and goes beautifully with casual and dressy looks alike. For my Spain trip, I snapped up the smallest version, the Mini Maestra – also the least expensive at $695. It was just big enough for my needs, with the ability to fit my DSLR camera, sunglasses, phone, wallet, and other small items.

After a year of loving my Mini Maestra, I decided to try the Midi and full-size Maestra versions to see if I was missing out on the larger sizes. Read on for my Senreve size comparison photos, full specs for each bag, and which size I’ve decided is my favorite for travel and everyday.

One reason I started off with the Mini Maestra is because I’m petite, and I was worried a larger size would overwhelm me. (For reference, I’m 5’5”, 105 lbs). I was actually pleasantly surprised at how flattering even the full-size Maestra bag was on my frame. The bag’s fine lines keep it from being clunky.

However, while the Mini and Midi sizes look like everyday bags and transition well into evening, the full-size Maestra clearly looks like a work bag. And unfortunately while it fits a whole lot, it only truly accommodates up to a 13” laptop, so it didn’t work out for me with my 15” Macbook. While Senreve says the Maestra will technically fit a 15” laptop in the central compartment, if that’s how you’re using the middle section, it’s the only thing you’re going to fit in there. (See photos of what fits in my full Maestra review here).

Since the bags’ long strap is attached at the back, I was concerned they would pitch forward when worn as a crossbody, but they’re well-balanced enough that they lie flat. The addition of a short top-handle adds the option to hold the bag in hand.

Senreve Maestra Finishes

The Maestra bags are available in an array of textured leathers.

Pebbled: Senreve’s classic finish, it’s scratch-proof and water resistant. The white Mini and black full-size Maestra pictured here are pebbled finish.

Mimosa: Similar to saffiano leather but without the cross-hatching, this luxe textured finish is slightly more pliable than the structured pebbled bags. Pictured here in the storm grey Midi.

Dolce: Senreve’s softest, least structured leather. I have Senreve’s Doctor bag in the Dolce finish and I find that it still keeps its shape well.

Mixed: In several combinations mixing pebbled, suede, and fur.

Dragon: An embossed leather that mimics crocodile, this is the second most expensive finish.

Vegan saffiano: A new addition, the vegan saffiano has the traditional saffiano cross-hatch pattern. I’ve seen this finish up close in a different style and was impressed with how good it looked.

One difference to note between these different bag sizes – the Mini Maestra closes with a magnetic snap, but the Midi and full-size Maestra bags use a belt-loop style stud closure. I actually prefer the stud closure because it’s much easier to close one-handed.

Every April, Senreve does a Handbag Revival sale where gently handled bags (like from photoshoots) are discounted up to 30% off. Senreve is committed to sustainable production and they never burn or destroy merchandise like other luxury brands, so you can benefit from getting a bag with a small crease or mark at a nice discount. Plus they’re very transparent in sharing exactly how perfectly imperfect each bag is, with sample photos of the kinds of small marks or scratches you can expect.

Occasionally there’s an Archive sale in January as well as they clear out older styles and colors and make way for new ones.

Just used your code to place an order for my 2nd Senreve bag!

I had the original, but like you said, its a bit large to transition from work to dinner. So I ordered a midi this time around!
