About the brand

First, what’s Lunya all about? Lunya’s sleepwear and intimates, “are crafted to make you feel confidently comfortable in your most intimate space — the bedroom,” says their website. “Being a modern woman can be complicated. We’re here to simplify — we know lots of things keep you up at night; what you sleep in shouldn’t be one of them.

In my review of Lunya’s washable silk set, I mentioned that this sounded a little too good to be true, but Lunya attracted me for other reasons. First, I love Lunya’s dedication to all-natural fabrics and functional blends, from washable silk to linen-silk, to cotton-silk and alpaca. Second, I am the kind of OCD person who relishes a good matching PJ set and likes feeling put together at all times (even when I’m catching zzzs).

Lunya Linen Silk

I’ve had my eye on Lunya’s Linen Silk line ever since I saw those two magic words together last year. I’m a little bit obsessed with the satisfying textured handfeel of natural blends, especially the dimensional shimmer of silk – and Lunya’s material delivers.

Released in limited qualities each summer, Lunya’s linen-silk blend is an all-natural, lightweight and breathable weave, with a faint striped texture and gentle luster when it’s in the light. Lunya describes it as a collection that travels well, “exceptional for lounging while traveling.” This concept totally spoke to me – packing light is a must, so I love the idea of sleepwear that does more than take me to bed. Last year I picked up the elegantly striped Linen Silk Shirt Set with the rationale that the shirt would look just as chic paired with jeans and wedges as it does with the matching shorts.

The Shirt Set

The shirt has three-quarter length sleeves with a little volume, a mandarin collar, and raglan sleeves – a combination that I wasn’t quite sure would work on me. Even the photos of the shirt on the product page model made it look a little oversized, but I bought the set in an XS and found that the fit is proportional and flattering. The shorts are somewhat fitted, in a tap short style. They’re a little sexy and a nice foil for the slightly oversized top – plus they look great with the top tied up at the front.

True to Lunya’s word, the linen silk fabric is breathable and comfortable all night long. I find that this set is perfect for when it’s about 70-85 degrees out. It’s particularly perfect at the beach, when balmy evenings turn into cooler nights, and looks perfect puttering around a beach house all morning.

Bonus – the linen silk fabric doesn’t wrinkle as much as you’d think it would just lounging around. While the set creases a bit in bed at night, it’s much more wrinkle resistant than I expected. I can wear the robe around the house, lounging on the couch for a week and never notice significant wrinkles.

The Robe

I’ve been eyeing the luxe linen silk robe since I fell in love with the shirt set last year, and in similar style, I made the decision to get it only because I figured I could wear it as a pool or beach cover up as well. The robe has pleats around the sleeves that give the arms a little bit of volume, and an elegant waist closure that uses buttons instead of a tie for a sleek silhouette. With its signature linen silk luster, the robe looks fabulous over a bikini, dressed up with wedges and a straw bag.

I love the chic feel of the robe as a cover-up, and would definitely bring this on vacation. It folds (or rolls) up to almost nothing, and will certainly elevate your downtime on any vacation.

Final verdict: I love both the shirt set and the robe, and I would try other pieces from Lunya’s resort linen silk line. All their pieces would look great at the pool, beach, or lounging in your hotel room.
