Wearing the Lunya Cozy Cotton Silk Pocket Henley in Lento Blue

The first thing I do when I get home from work is change into my favorite cashmere sweatpants and an old grad school hoodie. Scratch that – I used to wear an old grad school hoodie. Now I have Lunya’s cozy cotton silk pocket henley in three colors and I wear them on repeat. If I worked from home this would be my uniform (yes, it’s virtual meeting friendly!). Read on for my review.

About Lunya

There’s something truly chic about a matching pajama set – especially one that claims it will help you sleep better. Pure nonsense? No, says sleepwear brand Lunya, whose cheeky tagline, “Good in bed,” pops up everywhere on social media. You’ve probably seen the brand hyped up on Instagram, TikTok, in your favorite fashion magazine, and more. So what’s their deal?

Lunya’s sleepwear and intimates, “are crafted to make you feel confidently comfortable in your most intimate space — the bedroom,” says their website. “Being a modern woman can be complicated. We’re here to simplify — we know lots of things keep you up at night; what you sleep in shouldn’t be one of them. Cue slow raising of the hand – I’m exactly the kind of person who likes feeling put together at all times, and appreciates anything that makes bedtime (and weekend mornings) feel a little extra special.

How long has Lunya been around?

Founded in 2014, Lunya made a name for themselves with their signature washable silk sleepwear that brought low-maintenance luxury to home-bound millennials deprived of slick international vacations in 2020 and 2021. In their early days, I fell in love with Lunya’s dedication to all-natural fabrics and functional blends, from washable silk to linen-silk, to cotton-silk and alpaca. I love how they’ve cracked the code on stylish sleep and loungewear that you actually want to wear all day.

The fabric: cozy cotton silk

Lunya’s cozy cotton silk claims to be, “a soft, breathable, organic cotton that is blended with a touch of luxurious and thermoregulating silk for pieces that have a zero-itch factor.” Upon reading the fine print, what surprised me about this fabric blend is how little silk is in it – only 10%, along with 70% cotton and 20% nylon. While that may be a negligible amount to truly impact the breathability of the fabric, it does perform. This may have more to do with the unique honeycomb knit that is soft and cozy as well as cooling (Lunya’s sweet spot). Either way, it lives up to its claims.

The fit: oversized elegance

I am typically a size XS in Lunya, but for their oversized pieces that come in blended sizing (ie. XS/S and M/L), I find that the XS/S fits great. The body of this sweater has a pretty bell-shape that just covers my bum while not clinging to my figure.

The silhouette is balanced by an elegant collar that accentuates the neck, and extended ribbed cuffs that allow the sleeve to fall in a pretty shape, echoing the body of the sweater. The first time my mom saw me wearing the cozy cotton silk pocket henley, she commented, “What a beautiful sweater – it’s kind of sexy.” Which took me aback until she pointed out the collar and cuff detail that is so subtly flattering. Ok, mom!

The beauty of the collar is that you can easily swap this for your sporty quarter-zip on casual WFH days. While I spend my M-F in the office, I have worn this on early morning calls with our international teams and it totally passes the polish test.

The details

I appreciate the buttons down the front of this henley that makes it easy to pull the collar closer around my neck when it’s chilly. The chest pocket is also a great functional detail, though it’s surprisingly deep (I stuck a ruler down there; it’s 8.5” inches). It makes my husband laugh to no end – he loves trying to see how much random stuff will fit in it.

The verdict

There’s a reason I have this henley in three colors – it’s so wonderful I’ve made it a mainstay of my inside-clothes uniform. With that said, by no means should this beauty be relegated to the house. I’ve worn mine out to get coffee, to the neighborhood bar, and out to brunch, and it never looks out of place. Consider it the elevated adult upgrade to that old hoodie.
