Why Lunya's Washable Silk Tee Is Their Best Set

I’m a little bit obsessed with Lunya’s washable silk fabric. I dithered over making my first purchase because spending so much on sleepwear seemed overly indulgent, but once I tried Lunya’s washable silk tank set, I was hooked. Thick, opaque, soft, and machine-washable, the silk set was everything I wanted it to be. But after wearing it to death last spring and summer, the seasons changed and I left myself wanting something a little more covered up for cooler weather. Enter the Lunya washable silk tee set.

The washable silk tee set actually caught my eye before I decided to get the tank set, but I was concerned the oversized tee was going to drown my petite frame. I saw it had a loose fit on the model online, and figured there was no way it would look remotely flattering on me.

A few weeks ago, after some waffling, I finally decided to give it a try. Worst comes to worst, I figured I could return it. (Lunya makes returns super easy – after requesting one, you can even shop immediately with store credit, or wait for your return to arrive at their warehouse for a full refund).

The fit

I decided on getting the washable silk tee set in cloud, a beautiful light silver grey. When it arrived and I put it on for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised. This tee is designed for an oversized look with drop shoulders and a high-low hem that drapes beautifully on the body. It definitely gave me the feel of a beloved boyfriend tee, while looking and feeling super luxe.

For reference, I usually wear a size 0, and I’m pictured here wearing the silk tee set in size XS/S. Lunya has since phased out the combined sizes – current colors come in a straight XS or S here. I am a size XS in the new sizes.

The details

The details in this set are also on-point. The tee has a perfect little pocket on the left breast, and the shorts have a pocket too, as well as non-slip grips on the back waistband to ensure the shirt stays tucked in if you wish. The neckline of my set is a ribbed woven fabric that isn’t silk, but the newer tee sets have necklines made of the same washable silk fabric as the rest of the piece.

The verdict

I never expected to like the Lunya washable silk tee set more than my tank set, but this is definitely the style I now want to collect in every color! The tee provides just a bit more coverage (important, because unless it’s high summer I tend to get cold easily). It also comes in a set with long pants which of course I’m now eyeing intently…

I even think you could wear this during the day, tucked into jeans or a pleated skirt, and maybe with a cute cardigan over top. It’s 100% an indulgence, and makes me feel so pampered and fancy at night – and when I stay in my pjs all morning!
